Muncaster Castle

Built in the 13th century, Muncaster Castle is a popular attraction for history lovers. Thought to be built on Roman ruins, the castle is currently owned by the Pennington family who has a history of living in the area since at least 1026. One of the must-see attractions while visiting the castle is The Hawk & Owl Centre. It is run by the Hawk Conservancy Trust who are committed to birdlife conservation. 

Ingleton Waterfalls Trail

The Ingleton Waterfalls Trail takes you on a beautiful walk alongside two rivers which offer views of spectacular waterfalls. The walk is unsuitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs as it includes climbing several steps along the way.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The world famous  Blackpool Pleasure Beach offers fun for all the family. The park is Britain's biggest tourist attraction which includes rides for children and adults. The kids will love visiting Nickelodeon Land while adults can enjoy the visually spectacular Hot Ice shows.

Pennine Way National Trail

The Pennine Way is a National Trail which is steeped in history. You can walk 268 miles through some of the best walking landscapes in England. The trail stretches from Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders to Edale in Derbyshire.  The Pennine Way was the first National Trail, opened on 24th April 1965 and remains one of the most popular walking trails in the UK.

Lakeside & Haverthwaite Steam Railway

You can travel back in time by experiencing the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. The train will take you from Haverthwaite Station to enjoy views up towards the southern tip of Lake Windermere. A popular choice is to combine the journey with a trip on the Windermere Steamer to Bowness or Ambleside. You can also pay a visit to The Lakes Aquarium as part of your journey.
